I’m Heather Burton, a writer in progress. My interest in ideas and stories spans many decades, but in January 2017 I told myself, God, and a few select others that “This is the year.” 

Since then, I’ve been writing and publishing articles online, offering my writing services to meaningful projects, hosting my local writers’ group, and seeing the people and events around me through a storymaker’s lens. I also teach writing to teens, review middle-grade and young adult literature, and develop my craft in the spaces.

I do hope you’ll stop by to sample my contributions to the immense conversation going on around us.

The goal is to be real, honest, humane, and thought-provoking.

My experience is that when we climb aboard true-to-life stories, whether ours or others', we tend to arrive at ourselves.
